Set in the stunning scenery of the Isle of Skye, Dunvegan Castle & Gardens is one of Scotland's premier wedding venues. Whether it is a religious or civil ceremony, Dunvegan is the ideal venue for your special day.
Scotland is known for its flexible bridal laws and there is no residency requirement. The Marriage Act 2002 (Scotland) allows for both civil and religious ceremonies to be performed at licensed venues. Dunvegan Castle & Gardens is registered under this Act and is recognised by the Highland Regional Council as a licensed venue for civil and religious ceremonies. We cater for weddings for up to fifty people and you have the choice of your ceremony being conducted in the grandeur of one of Scotland's most iconic buildings or in the tranquil surroundings of its formal gardens.
We have an experienced and friendly team who take pride in the high quality level of service we provide to facilitate your wedding day. We would be delighted to assist you with any questions you may have on accommodation, florists, pipers and sourcing a Minister or Registrar.
Located in an idyllic loch-side setting, Dunvegan Castle is the oldest continuously inhabited castle in Scotland and has been the stronghold of the Chiefs of MacLeod for nearly 800 years. Over time, we have given a warm Highland welcome to visitors including Sir Walter Scott, Dr Johnson, Queen Elizabeth II and the Japanese Emperor Akihito and we now look forward to welcoming you on your special day.
